Center of Excellence Travel Benefit for substance use disorder and addiction treatment

SmartHealth is pleased to announce the Travel Benefit program for members seeking treatment for substance abuse and addiction. The Ascension Illinois Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center outside Chicago, Illinois, is now identified as a Center of Excellence (COE) for substance use disorder and addiction treatment. When treatment is received at this facility, this new benefit provides:

  • Assistance with and coverage of travel to the facility.

  • Reduced out-of-pocket costs.

    • PPO plan – The copay and deductible will be waived, and 100% of charges for medical expenses will be covered.

    • HDHP plan – HDHP members are subject to copays, coinsurance and deductibles. A federal regulation requirement for HDHP plans does not allow these fees to be waived.

The services provided at our COE centers include evidence based, research-supported interventions provided by experienced clinical professionals. The treatment plan for each participant will be personalized according to each individual's needs and customized to provide maximum benefit.

We are offering this program to support our members that are struggling with addiction and are ready to begin the path to recovery.
