Protect Your Health With Preventive Care
July 23, 2020

Do you know all the benefits SmartHealth provides for you? Your SmartHealth plan offers you many benefits, and not just coverage for unexpected ill health. Your coverage includes preventive care and testing for adults, pregnant women, teens, children and infants. Preventive care helps you get and stay healthy and SmartHealth pays for 100% of certain preventive care services.
Get your vaccines
Preventive care includes standard childhood and many adult vaccines, including the annual flu shot.
Many illnesses can be avoided entirely or have their effects minimized by following proper immunization and vaccination schedules recommended by doctors, and required in most states and school districts for children. All standard childhood vaccines are fully covered without any out-of-pocket costs as part of the SmartHealth preventive services.
Standard childhood vaccinations can stop or curtail polio, measles, mumps, rubella, the human papillomavirus which causes many cancers, some forms of hepatitis, tetanus, diphtheria, chickenpox and other serious diseases.
Childhood vaccinations save lives so don’t neglect to get your child vaccinated, especially since it is a fully covered preventive SmartHealth service.
Adults also need vaccinations and they are covered under the equivalent SmartHealth preventive services provided to children. Tetanus, diphtheria, some forms of hepatitis, shingles and depending on age human papillomavirus can all be curbed with proper immunization.
