Relax, Renew, and Refresh for the New Year!

It’s true – we all need to refresh and restore ourselves from time to time. People are not meant to work all the time. It’s important to find a balance. According to Mental Health America, relaxation and exercise are very important to both your mental and physical health. Taking care of yourself takes extra time and effort, but it is worth it! When people don’t take time to relax, everything else in their life suffers.
In the “Relax, Renew, and Refresh” challenge run through the SmartHealth Well-being Program, you will be able to explore the value of allowing your mind, body and soul to have some meaningful, restorative downtime. So, take a deep breath and get ready to relax, renew, and refresh!
Ways this challenge will benefit your health
- Recharge you for the New Year: Exercise is a great way to recharge your body. It can be a relaxing activity that makes you feel a lot better.
- Improve your mental health: Getting more exercise has a profound effect on not only your body, but also your mental health. You will find yourself starting to let your stress fade away.
- Give you a support system: This fitness challenge can be done as a team, giving you a great support system to help you exercise more.
- Boost your self-confidence: After a few weeks of getting more exercise, you will start to see improvements in your mind and body. This can lead to a boost in self-confidence.
Quick tips about the challenge
The “Relax, Renew, Refresh” challenge run through SmartHealth’s Well-being Program is scheduled to begin Feb 1, 2021.
It is a two-week long challenge that ends Feb. 14, 2021.
It's a step-based team challenge, so you can have a support system to help you!
When participating members join a team and that team reaches a new step threshold, they unlock new tips, tricks and resources on the Platform when they're logged in. The tips are like pop up messages through the Platform.
Team scores are based on total team steps.
If you unlock all the stages before the challenge ends, keep walking. Another team could still pass you on the Challenge Leaderboard.
You can get credit for 30,000 steps a day, so aim high!
At the end of the challenge, the team with the highest score will be the winner.
